How can I participate in a PECO Energy Assessment?*

Who is eligible to participate in a PECO Energy Assessment or Energy Assessment PLUS?
All PECO residential electric customers are eligible to receive an Energy Assessment. You must be a PECO electric heat customer to be eligible for PECO Assessment PLUS.
When can I schedule an Energy Assessment?
For your convenience, appointments are available Monday through Friday with a limited number of Saturday appointments. Energy Assessments typically take between one to two hours to complete and the Energy Assessment PLUS appointment typically takes between two to four hours. To schedule an appointment, call 1-888-573-2672 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Who will perform the Energy Assessment or Energy Assessment PLUS?
PECO’s partner CLEAResult performs all assessments. To help you verify that the CLEAResult employees are working with PECO, they will have PECO business cards, PECO shirts and PECO identification badges and arrive in a PECO-branded vehicle.
I heat my home with natural gas, oil, propane or another fuel. How much would an Energy Assessment cost me?
Our standard Energy Assessment, valued at $150, costs just $49-67% off the market price.
I heat my home with electricity. How much would an Energy Assessment cost me?
You can opt to receive either the standard Energy Assessment (valued at $150) for $49, or the more comprehensive Energy Assessment PLUS (valued at $300) for $99. Both options are offered at 67% off the market price.
How do I pay?
You can pay by credit card when speaking with a PECO Smart Ideas Customer Service Representative at 1-888-573-2672 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Or you can pay by check or money order through the mail, but note that PECO must wait for the check to clear, which can take up to two weeks, before scheduling the assessment or audit.
As an electric heat customer, after the appointment has been completed, are there additional rebates that I may be eligible for?
Yes, based on the findings in your report, you may be eligible for rebates up to $1,150.
Who will perform the energy efficiency improvements for me?
You can select from our list of qualified participating contractors to complete the improvements recommended by your energy advisor.
How much will the additional improvements cost me?
The prices will vary depending on the additional work recommended for your home.
Should I contact several participating contractors to compare prices?
This program has set pricing agreed to by all of our participating contractors, so you don’t have to waste time comparing costs.
How long do I have to decide about proceeding with the recommendations?
Rebate offers are valid for 90 days from the date of the appointment.
What are the qualifications of the energy advisors and participating contractors?
PECO energy advisors are experienced in residential energy conservation, construction and building diagnostics, and have been trained to Building Performance Institute (BPI) standards. Most are either certified by BPI and/or the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET). Participating contractors are professional contractors licensed in Pennsylvania and have provided references, qualifications and evidence of insurance.
Who is responsible for the work and products I buy?
Warranties for products you purchase as a result of the Energy Assessment PLUS will be provided by their manufacture. Warranties on workmanship are provided by the contractor you select.
 PECO does not warrant products or workmanship.
Why is PECO offering these programs?
As part of the Pennsylvania Act 129 program, PECO is required to reduce the overall electric consumption of its customers by five percent during the next five years. To achieve that goal, the Public Utility Commission (PUC) approved a PECO plan that created several energy efficiency programs, including In-Home Assessments.
How long will PECO offer these programs?
Programs are currently available through May 31, 2021. However, funds are limited, and programs may be changed or terminated, so act today. Rules and rebates may change and funds are subject to availability.
How do I determine if I am a PECO residential electric heat customer?
You are a PECO residential heat customer if you have an electric heat pump, electric furnace or electric baseboard as your main source of heat.
Is the Energy Assessment fee refundable?
Yes, if the appointment is cancelled prior to the scheduled visit. Please notify PECO at least 24 hours prior to your appointment by calling 855-312-5923 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Can I cancel the work planned with a contractor if I change my mind?
The participating contractors are independent businesses who contract with you directly. Your contractor will have their own policies and all work will be subject to your agreement, so you should discuss policies before signing an agreement. PECO is not involved with your selection of a contractor or your agreement with your selected contractor.
